01/08/2008 - Navertech Set to Expand

Thurso based IT company Navertech Ltd has recently moved to larger premises in the towns Beach Court and is now set to further expand its operations.

Navertech provides integrated e-business solutions and according to managing director Peter Body has enjoyed a 50% increase in sales over the past year. He said "The Internet is now firmly established as the new working environment for businesses and other organisations, of all sizes. Consequently, we have received growing interest in our web based business tools and media services".

David McGillivray, operations director, added "We have also seen a significant increase in demand for bespoke software applications, from forward looking clients who are converting paper based systems to digital processes".

Not content with resting on its laurels, Navertech is due to launch its innovative business information web portal BIZ24, before the end of the year. And, if that wasn't enough, also plans to launch the Navertech Youth Programme and Navertech Partner Programme.

Peter Body advised, "The Navertech Youth Programme aims to form links with Thurso and Wick High Schools and the North Highland College, with a view to offering IT students work experience and recruitment opportunities". He went on to say, "We hope this will not only allow us to build a valuable future resource but also retain talented young people in the County".

David McGillivray continued, "The Navertech Partner Programme aims to identify, and facilitate collaboration with, fellow ICT specialists throughout the Highlands and possibly beyond. We hope this will allow us to expanding our skills base and increasing capacity, to enable us to take on even larger projects". He added, "This follows on from our earlier success with the HIE ‘Speak Up For Broadband' campaign which saw us manage a team of up to 19 communication and media specialists throughout Scotland.
